REGOS is an institution owned by the Republic of Croatia established by the Regulation on the Establishment of the Central Registry of Affiliates, and its fundamental competence and basic duties are regulated by the Act on the Register of Insured Persons.

REGOS core tasks:
- collection and processing of data on receipts and contributions for the pension insurance pillars I and II.
- managing the unified accounting of personal accounts of compulsory pension fund members
- transfer of all assets belonging to a compulsory pension fund member from closed personal accounts to legal recipients
- register keeping and reporting
- electronic exchange and delivery of data from the Register.
REGOS can exercise governmental authority in the activities relating to keeping the Central Registry of Affiliates.

- electronic exchange and delivery of data from the register to institutions in the field of social security
- performing tasks of an access point for electronic data exchange with institutions in the social security system
